Dollar Tree Boho Ornament DIY

My daughter and I have been doing a lot of holiday crafts this season, especially ornaments. We love crafting at our house, but there seems to be something extra special about crafting during the holidays!  I wanted to share this quick and easy boho ornament that we made. We used supplies from our dollar tree stash and this craft literally cost pennies to make!

Supplies used:

Dollar Tree Coaster (these kind normally come in a set of 4)

Photo of your choice

Dollar Tree Mop Head or Jute Twine

Mod Podge

Small Paint Brush

Hot Glue Gun

Trace around your coaster and trim photo to fit.

Then use a paint brush to spread a thin layer of mod podge to the coaster. Place your photo and gently smooth out any air bubbles.  Let dry completely.  I brushed another thin layer over the photo to give it more of a matte linen finish and to add a layer of protection.   Let this dry completely.  You can use a hair dryer or heat gun to speed things up a bit!

Then, I glued a piece of the mop string around the edges to give it a boho look and embellished it with a bow.  You can also use jute twine instead of the mop string for a different look. Don’t forget your finger protectors! I’m super clumsy and always burn myself!

Glue a scrap piece of string to the back to use as the ornament hanger.  Now your ornament is ready to hang on your tree. These also make great gifts.  I made this one for my mom.
